This is the standard Chesterton chest, the three-drawer one that does the everyday work in a bedroom. Folded jumpers, spare sheets, the drawer of things that have no other home: it takes the lot.
The body is Bayur wood, worked by hand in Indonesia and skinned in a warm Mindi veneer. The top is a panel of woven wicker, which stops a solid chest from reading as a block, and the drawers pull on round brass handles.
Wood being wood, the grain wanders, so your chest will not be quite like anyone else's. The brass dulls down nicely with handling rather than staying shiny.
Drawers run on timber runners, the feet are capped to spare your floorboards, and it lands built. A soft brush over the wicker now and then is most of the upkeep.
